This booklet, written by a parent of a child with autism, was initially developed with a Teddy Bear Theme for an Autism Treatment Services of Saskatchewan (formerly The Saskatoon Society for Autism) display at the first Teddy Bear B.A.S.H. (Bear Ambulatory Surgical Hospital) held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in May of 1998.

The visual tool was created for a very young audience and therefore introduces autism in a simplistic manner with the use of teddy bears along with a few key words and phrases.

When read to classmates and siblings, the booklet often evokes many questions and responses that may be helpful in the process of understanding and accepting this disability.
